We Can Make A Difference Together
The backbone of our Tree House program is the special group of volunteers who lead the children peer support groups under the supervision of our staff.
To become a group facilitator, a volunteer completes a 21-hour training program, exploring the nature of grief for children and adults, and learns the skills necessary to lead a group. The training is simultaneously challenging and enriching, leaving those who complete it with a unique understanding of the process through which they can help others to heal. Over the years, many volunteers have described the training – and subsequent experience as a facilitator – as some of the most rewarding of their lives.
Volunteer facilitator training classes are held annually.
